I’ve really enjoyed making this block. Block 10 is called Birds in the Air.
It is essential that your fabric has been starched and pressed before making this block. We are cutting and sewing on the bias, starching helps to stabilise the fabric.
Choose two colours, one light one dark.
From the dark fabric cut:
1 x square 12 7/8″
2 x square 4 7/8″
From the light fabric:
3 x square 4 7/8″
Cut all squares in half diagonally. (There will be one small dark triangle and one large triangle leftover)
Lay out your pieces as demonstrated in the video. This will make it easier to keep track of where each piece should go.
Use 1/4″ seam allowance throughout
Sew together as shown in the video, joining the pieces in each row together, then sew the rows to each other to form the pieced triangle.
Press as you go.
Join the large triangle to the pieced triangle.
See you tomorrow for Block 11
