Our block for Day 5 is the Square in a Square, otherwise known as Diamond in a Square.
To create a 61/2″ block (unfinished):
You will need two contrasting/coordinating fabrics.
Cut the centre square-4 3/4″ square
From the contrasting fabric, cut 2 x 4″ squares. Cut these squares in half diagonally to form four triangles.
Fold and finger press centre square in half diagonally and vertically.
Using 1/4″ seam allowance, sew triangles to each side of the square, making sure they are central by lining up the point with the fold line, and working on opposite sides as demonstrated in the video.
Press Trim to 6 1/2″ making sure that the points line up with the 3 1/4″ markers on each side and that there is a 1/4″ seam allowance on each side
