Our Day 8 block is the Pinwheel block and we are going to be using two contrasting fabrics.

You will need two 7″ blocks of each fabric. On the lighter fabrics, draw a line from corner to corner on the reverse.

Taking one lighter and one darker square, place right sides together and stitch 1/4″ either side of the line.

Cut along the line and press open the blocks. You will now have four 1/2 square triangle blocks.

Layout the blocks as demonstrated in the video to get the pinwheel effect.

Join the top two blocks, then the bottom two, press.

Join the pairs and then press

Use a 1/4″ seam allowance throughout

Look forward to seeing you tomorrow for Block 9.
