Valentines’ Projects

Hello, it’s Fiona from the Sewing Directory here. Rather than being a monthly blogger I’m going to bring you a round up of projects for seasonal events throughout the year. Starting off with Valentine’s day which is just around the corner.

I would be remiss if I didn’t start with some great heart projects. If you love someone enough to sew them a full size quilt for Valentine’s day this log cabin heart quilt by Zany Quilter looks brilliant. Or if you prefer video tutorials the tender heart quilt from Missouri Quilt Co might be the one for you.

Another full size quilt option would be this simple heart quilt project from Cluck Cluck Sew. Because this quilt consists of several smaller heart blocks you could use them to make a mini quilt, cushion or bag instead.

Speaking of heart blocks there are several below which could easily be incorporated into projects:

What about gifts to make for the men in your life for valentine’s day?

We love this man’s wallet project, given how cold it is lately this free fleece jumper project could be the perfect Valentine’s make or what about some comfy pj trousers?

If gadgets are his thing this is a great ipad or tablet case, maybe he needs a tablet stand or perhaps an e-reader case?

Alternatively there’s a fab tie tutorial here, a stylish messenger bag or a tool bucket tote.

If that’s not enough for you there a big list here of 25 handmade gifts for men.

Hope you enjoy your Valentine’s Sewing.
