Do you have those moments when you become determine to complete something or in January think it would be a good idea to have a news year resolution? Towards the end of last year I thought writing a list of unfinished items to work my way through would be a fabulous idea. If I’m honest it’s probably one of the stupidest ideas I have ever had, in fact I weigh less now than I did in December, I’ve completed a complicated course at work and I’ve taught classes things I have had no idea about ten minutes before the lesson. Can I complete a list of projects to finish? In a simple terms no I have not, the list of items to complete was probably a bit ambitious and it’s grown too! The list started at 22 projects, it now contains 32 projects, although I have completed 12 of these beautiful pieces.

After becoming a bit annoyed with myself for not finishing more projects, I have decided that every year I should complete a certain number of projects, I have really impressed myself this year and not brought many new projects at shows I have visited, don’t get me wrong I have made many purchases from local quilt shops and shows as I strongly believe we need to support our local retailers. I’m going to aim to complete two quilts on the list each year and five to ten smaller projects, by breaking it down into manageable chunks this might be possible.
