Roses for Ralphie was designed and made in the early Summer of 2020. I would like to be able to tell you that there was a specific design inspiration, but there wasn’t! I dyed the calico for the quilt top using procion dyes, mixing the colours to my own recipes. Despite all evidence to the contrary, the background fabric is a very dark grey! It was pieced and quilted on my domestic Bernina 475QE sewing machine. Quilting thread is Madeira Cotona 30 in Oyster Shell – a variegated thread that shades through greys with hints of pinks and greens
