Bradford and Watling’s new Block of the Month

As one of UKQU’s bloggers, I’m absolutely thrilled to have been asked to make 6 blocks from a new Block of the Month pattern produced by Bradford and Watling and report back on it in my blogs. I’ve only been quilting just over 2 ½ years (although I’ve been sewing since I was a teenager) and I’ve never followed a BOM series because of my worry about time commitment and cost, but reading the description, it looks as though this will be just up my street! Already I see beautiful colourways and the geometrical patchwork designs are just so pleasing to my logical mind. Noticing that the pieces are pre-cut is going to make it so much easier to be accurate too – while I have used a rotary cutter and done quite a bit of piecing, I am well aware of how easy it is to cut inaccurate pieces, so that’s one problem out of the way already! I’m also someone who loves to learn from others and follow instructions – I’d love to be able to design, but that’s definitely not my bag – so I just can’t wait to get started.

I’ll blog each time I make a new block and post lots of photos so that hopefully I will give a clear and honest review of this product, but already I’m impressed and will be eagerly anticipating the postman delivering the first block to make.
