With just under a week to go before the start of the Christmas QAL 18 I thought I would share some alternate colourways with you – it doesn’t have to be all about Christmas!!

Whilst I made my quilt in the Makower Silent Night range, which has been kitted up by The Cotton Patch for this QAL, my testers made their blocks with their own fabric choices – some Christmas, some winter and some not seasonal at all.  The design lends itself to any fabric and I would love to see what one looked like totally scrappy!  Now if I didn’t have a 101 other projects on the go I might have just been tempted to make that up during the QAL!

When we launched the QAL it was right at the start of the heatwave – oh do you remember that?!  What perfectly awful timing.  But now that summer holidays are done and dusted, the temperature is dropping (albeit slowly) and the days are getting shorter maybe it is time to think about your next project.  I would love to have you join in with the QAL – there’ll be lots of skills to learn or build on, a lovely group of fellow quilters, maybe some random prizes and, of course, a quilt at the end of it – what more do you need?

Block 2 – Anneliese
Block 2 – Sue
Block 2 – Kim

The QAL starts on Wednesday 05 September and finishes on Wednesday 12 December.  The first week is for fabric selection and cutting and then there is a block a week for 9 weeks.  This is followed by sashing, borders, basting, quilting and binding with several catch up weeks included, because we all know life can sometimes get in the way of quilting!

All 9 blocks – Tandy

The pattern can be purchased over in my shop and the and the full schedule and general information will be sent to you as soon as you have purchased.  Each subsequent week’s instructions will be sent direct to your inbox on Wednesdays.
