Well, Christmas 2018 is over. It’s a long time coming and then it’s over in a flash, hope it was a good one for you.

We’re not into celebrating the new year in, but do like to reflect on the nice things that happened in the year gone by.

2018 saw a few firsts for me…

I became a blogger on https://ukqu.co.uk/ and opened a shop on their website…

Entering the Mini Quilt Swap was my first time and I thoroughly enjoyed taking part. This was great fun and if you’ve not done it yet, give it a go.

I was in the Xmas group. This was my swap for my partner…

I discovered she had two adorable cats and liked bright colours and snowflakes so sourced some lovely fabric and designed a Christmas/cats themed quilt.

I received a beautiful table runner from my swappee, isn’t it gorgeous?

Also I had a first publication in P&Q magazine…

I went on my first quilt retreat and made a Quilt for Christmas Dinners. This opened my eyes to children in care and those that are less fortunate. I loved making this, even though I had absolutely no idea who it was for, I hoped it would bring some little comfort.

On a more personal note we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary and we had a fantastic day with friends and family….some of which were at our wedding!

Many of us have indulged a little over Christmas, so a few of us have kicked off the new year with HUGS… Helping U Get Slimmer…a friendly group with advice and support, if you feel like joining us, you’ll find us here…

So, it’s a new year, 2019. A fresh new start, hope the year is happy and healthy for you all.
