UKQU BOOK CLUB 8 years, 1 month agoArlene has chosen the book for June, which will be announced very soon.
There’s more exciting things to come along too so watch out for that in Quilting News. We think you will like what you see. Meanwhile, enjoy Tracy Chevalier and if you have any questions for Arlene maybe pop them on here for her from now on. -

Sheena Roberts wrote a new post, Colonial Mat Smoother – distributed by EQS 8 years, 2 months ago
Such excitement – a little parcel dropped through the letter box a few days ago. I couldn’t recall ordering anything so, like a child on Christmas Day, the envelope was soon removed.
Out fell the Colonial Mat Smo…

Lucky you Sheena to get such a useful product to review 😉 Nice blog and looks like you really put this item through its paces x
-
Hi Ingrid – yes, I really did!! No point trying it out on something that didn’t need the work! Thank you for your nice comment. Much appreciated.
-
-
Thank you. Interesting review. Good to know it works.
-
It really did work well – the difference in the before and after photos is stunning!
-
-
Great item but very expensive which is disappointing.
-
I think I would view it as money sell spent as it would prolong the life of the mat. It really made a huge difference to my much loved, old and abused mat!
-
-
do you know the retail price of this item please?
-
I did a search for it and in the UK Quilt Direct has it for £19, Amazon has it cheaper. I didn’t bother searching further than that.
-
thank you

Abigail Sheridan de Graaff wrote a new post, cut&alter :: British Quilt and Stitch Village 2018 :: A Review 8 years, 2 months ago
Last Sunday I visited the British Quilt and Stitch Village at Uttoxeter Racecouse. It is a small, friendly show run by TPL Exhibtiions and showcases quilts and embroidery. On a nice sunny, spring day the racecourse…

Thank you Abigail for sharing your preview of the show. The exhibits look wonderful. Thank you also, for picking mine to show in your blog, I feel honoured x

It’s a pleasure! The theme was interpreted in so many different ways, which is what is great about a theme, and I wanted to give wide spread of quilts. I still have a lot more photos I didn’t put up – but thinking about it can we ever really have too many quilts?!

Christine Hutchins wrote a new post, Write It Down! 8 years, 2 months ago
I can easily see how this post is a carry-on from my February post, which boiled down to ‘Use It Up’. Not only am I a ‘Fabriholic’, but I am a ‘Stationery Addict’ too – and have been for as long as I’ve been sew…

-
I enjoyed reading this Christine but, I should confess, my pleasure came (at least in part) from an increasing feeling that I might be relatively ‘normal’ 😉
-
This makes me feel better Ingrid – as it means that I also may be relatively ‘normal’ – although some may beg to differ!
-
-
Having just moved house and had to give away a lot of unused stationery, I think I could say I was a stationery addict too. I’ve recorded most of the things I have ever made for sale (patterns, making instructions, time taken, materials used, costs), but your blog has made me realise that there is so much more I could be doing with quilting notes. Thank you.
-
Thank you Corinne – good luck with the notes!
