Is it just me me or has it suddenly become cold, usually in east anglia we are lucky that that we hang onto a bit of warm but this year it’s become freezing cold very quickly. I’m thrilled that I managed to make myself a lap quilt this year, so I’m snuggled up underneath it with either the cat, child or other half trying to share. I enjoy this time of year as it’s recently been half term I have spent time embroidering and watching Netflix. Some how I have managed to finish the top of twelve days of Christmas, this week around work I hope to layer the quilt then beaver away it get it quilted before the Christmas tree goes up! The quilt is made up of 12 embroidered panels surrounded by patchwork.

I’m going to simply quilt this  by sewing quarter of an inch around the embroidered panels then bind it in red, always sounds simple doesn’t it! I’ve recently tested some Christmas mug rugs for her which I was going to gift to for Christmas, but they are too beautiful! Check out her website for some little gems.

Over the past 18months I’ve been working on a block of the month, which has been nothing but trouble from start until now. It’s in one piece and it’s beautiful but it’s seen every emotion through the process of making, Ive layered it now deciding how to quilt it, I’ve purchased a template which I’m hoping to mark onto the sashing but I’m still researching ways to quilt the main panel and as some of the seams are tight I feel they need something to hold them together. I’m hoping to complete this in the new year then I’m going to redecorate my bedroom from white and grey to white and lavender to ensure it has pride of place on my bed.   The research seems to take hours but then I do get easily distracted on Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook.
