I didn’t realise that there was going to be a Part 2 to this, but there you go – sometimes these things creep up on you. As I have said before, I am such an amazingly fortunate person to be earning my living teaching patchwork and quilting. One of the things that I love best of all is being able to be so reactive to people’s wants and needs.

My teaching space is at my home and my classes and workshops are intentionally small (although I teach larger groups elsewhere too) so if someone contacts me to ask if I am planning to teach ……………… whatever it is that they are wanting to do, even if it isn’t in my diary, I am able to look for a gap and see if I can organise something to suit.

This situation happened at the beginning of the year. As the result of a query via Facebook I was able to set aside some Saturdays throughout the year and plot in a couple of Free Motion days, and a Jelly Roll day – all because someone simply asked! There is no reason why those areas weren’t already covered by my teaching programme, I just hadn’t thought to offer them. Thankfully people weren’t “backwards about coming forward” (as the saying goes!) and they asked. So I am pleased to say that I was able to accommodate them.

On the flip side of that though, is this situation – I have responded to a (admittedly vague) query and put a Weekend Workshop on the Calendar, but alas, no takers.

So here I am looking at a 2-day space next month, with no one booked on to what I had planned. I could drink wine and cry; I could take it as an opportunity to go away for the weekend ………………. or I could throw it open and say “Is there anything you fancy doing?” So that is what I am going to do. I am very excited to see what ideas people will come up with. So if you are within striking distance of Watford and free on 23rd and/or 24th June all you have to do is ask!

So I say it again – I am such an amazingly fortunate person. I could be worrying that I have booked space somewhere and might have to cancel, but that is not my situation – I have a couple of teaching days available, and you can choose what I teach! How utterly FABULOUS is that?

My super power is teaching, supporting, encouraging and enabling, so that you can create something unique and wonderful, and have lots and lots of FUN!
