The wonderful people at Groves have donated a bumper prize for our first competition of 2020. Whether you have been quilting since childhood, or just starting out, this is a perfect prize for any patchwork quilter.
This month we are looking at beautiful sunrises or amazing sunsets. What inspires you to get up in a morning, or what do you love to watch in the evening. How do you interpret February?
As ever .. the quilts should be no larger than 42″ either side, but can be constructed from any technique, from applique to traditional, mixed textiles, a quilt, a coverlet or a wall hanging. Please, submit your ideas and let’s enjoy your quilts.
The first step is to post a picture of your quilt onto the UK Quilters United Facebook page as soon as you are ready .. and don’t forget to add #february20competition as your tag so we can find your entry. Don’t be afraid to post more than one, and certainly do not worry if you don’t think its good enough. It is! We are an inclusive group for every level of skill aren’t we.
On the 24th February 2020 we will choose the six quilts with most likes and they will appear here on this page for our members to choose their favourite.
The quilt with the most votes will win all these notions from Groves, and the runner up a pair of tickets to a Grosvenor Show of their choice.
Fat Quarter Bag, Sew Easy Quilting Set containing Rotary Cutter, Double Sided Self-healing Mat and 12×6″ Patchwork Ruler, Mini Square Template Set, Slash and Circle – cutting circles 5-23cm. Sew Easy Sewing Machine USB Stick and a pack of quilt tags [tags not pictured] to round it all off. Phew .. what a prize!
A liker from FB and a voter from our website will also will a pair of tickets each to a Grosvenor Show of their choice.
The two winning quilts will be exhibited at the 2019/20 Members Choice Exhibition which will be touring with Grosvenor Shows next year starting in August at the 2020 Great Northern Quilt Show in Harrogate.
