The book for July is Fool’s Puzzle by Earlene Fowler.

After her college sweetheart and later husband suddenly dies, Benni Harper is making a fresh start by moving to San Celina in California. Having previously lived on a ranch, she’s now the curator at the local folk-art museum. This is a mystery book, and as is usually the case in mystery books, the main character stumbles on a dead body. This time it happens when Benni is a work at the folk-art museum and busy preparing a quilt exhibition.

Following the murder of one of the members of the co-op at the museum, Benni starts her own investigation and is not too keen on sharing her findings with the police.

The book is the first of fifteen in the Benni Harper Mystery series, so if you enjoy this read, you’re in for a treat!

Tip: If you are considering making a sampler quilt, you’ll could use Earlene Fowler’s books as an inspiration – the titles are all quilt blocks!
