I’m part of a group for Handiquilter owners, called the Longarm Learning Curve and each year we have the opportunity of taking part in the Radiance Challenge.  This isn’t a competition, but the chance to try something out of our comfort zone. This year’s challenge was in two parts – one to use a piece of vintage linen as a centre to the quilt and the second was to use a piece of ice dyed Radiance fabric and interpret the design in our own way.  All of the quilts will be on display at many of the Grosvenor Spring Quilt shows, so do have a look at them if you get the chance. For me, it was the chance to try out the Cindy Needham stencils I bought earlier this year – definitely out of my comfort zone!

Our monthly Sew4Linus workshop continues to go from strength to strength and our volunteers continually produce amazing quilts for the children in our area.  We have also been busy fund raising and the quilt that we have as first prize in our raffle is fabulous.  The kit was “Simply Eden” by Tula Pink and was generously donated by Jayne Spark – it was beautifully pieced by Val Brooks and quilted by yours truly.  Whoever wins this – or either of the other two quilts – will be very happy indeed!
