After an amazing September Blog Hop (ok so perhaps it wasn’t everyone’s understanding of a blog hop but it was amazing, you have to admit that} are we looking forwards to an ordinary October?

For anyone who missed the #GFBH2020 pattern extravaganza there’s time enough to enjoy the 30 or more free blocks the lovely Bloggerati created exclusively for website and facebook members alike.  Each one tells its own story and the patterns are sat waiting for you at the UKQU Merchandise online shop.

Nothing is ever ordinary . far from it and especially in the quilty world. October is the month of Halloween, its the month when our thoughts begin to turn towards Chirstmas.  There that word crept in.  Christmas!!!

I love it.  October is a great mix of autumnal colours, the garden starting to dress in its end of year glorious shades, and its time to think of what we will be giving to our family and friends in December.  The pumpkins are almost ready, but 2020 will likely be a quiet Halloween.  That does not mean we can’t dress our windows and lay the pumpkins out for everyone to enjoy.  It may have started in the US, but we have certainly adopted here in the UK.  I love having the kids knocking on the door for Trick or Treat and we still talk about the year we foolishly decided to do apple bobbing in the kitchen.  By 7pm our kitchen floor was awash having had the majority of the youngsters chancing their arm.   We live in a small village and word gets around fast. Somehow I am not expecting many knocking on the door this year.

If you search the net you will find lots of free patterns to dress your rooms in autumnal shades.   So many pretty, free patterns to choose from.   Ranging from table runners to cushions to full size quilts.  Who makes Haloween special quilts amongst us.   Throw them all over the FB group and show them off – be great to see them all.

Check out the UKQU shop too .. there are a few ideas on there you might want to have a go at.

Happy October everyone!!
