You’ve had 12 days with 12 different blocks and today I’ll show you how to complete your quilt top.

I am going to break this down into separate stages to make it easier. Just stop and start the video after each stage.

1: Cut 8 cornerstones 2 1/2″ square

2: Cut 4 strips 2 1/2″ x 34 1/2″

3: Cut 12 strips 2 1/2″ x 12 1/2″

4: Join a cornerstone to each end of a long strip. Press

5: We are now going to join the rows. Row 1: You will need sashing, small blocks 1 and 6, sashing, block 7, sashing, block 11, sashing.

6: Row 2: You will need sashing, block 10, sashing, block 9, sashing, and small blocks 2 and 5, sashing.

7: Row 3: You will need sashing, small blocks 3 and 4, sashing, block 12, sashing, and block 8, sashing.

Press all your rows.

8: We are now going to join our rows and long sashing strips to form the quilt top. I highly recommend pinning. It will save a lot of unpicking and resewing. Blocks with lots of pieces, especially blocks on cut/sewn on the bias, will need more pins and may need easing into place.

You will need long sashing strip, row 1, long sashing strip, row 2, long sashing strip, row 3, long sashing strip.

For some reason, the video cut out as I was joining the rows. Join in the order above, using a 1/4″ seam allowance and you will be done.

Press your completed quilt top.

Well done!

I hope you have enjoyed creating your quilt top.  I can’t wait to see them, so please make sure you come and share them in the quilt.

If you’ve missed any of the blocks you will find them here.
