Sometimes things just WHOOP out of control.
I did make them before; my notebooks. I love notebooks: I have a lot, and I use them all the time.
These first notebooks I made were made out of one of those projects for-the-road: I took this on trains, plains and automobiles! It was easy patchwork by hand; all Kaffe Fassett fabrics.
I made 10 of them to give to my coachees: as a gift but also to write in what their thoughts and homework brought. I sold a few, I gave some as a present. Soon they were gone. I thought, let’s make new ones.
And so I went at work.

Fast 2 fuse heavyweight, with scraps out of my 6 boxes… (yeah right!) and then quilt them on the machine to secure the scraps. Nice stitches for the edges.
Onward to the inside.
There are three little booklets: the outside of it is made by old paper shopping bags… So very sustainable! Each booklet holds 4 double pages folded; so 16 sides to write on!

Here you see one outside of a booklet (the famous Swedish shop) and the striped paper is just for fun to hold the three booklets.

Its a LOT of fun… and chaos… and coffee!
Each booklet is handsewn, a button comes upfront to close it. I had a leftover biastape from happy fabric so I took that to close the books:

And this makes me as happy as can be.
I posted on the Kaffe Fassett Collective Facebookpage, on my own page and on my LinkedIn profile.
And to my surprise, IN came the orders!
So…. Combined with this new job I started recently I was overwhelmed for a moment…. After that I grabbed myself together, cancelled a few volunteer jobs, my sewing classes where I learn to sew clothes is delayed till January, and I am BUSY working on new books!
And….. HOORAY! I started a store here so YOU can order too!
Have a very merry Christmastime!
Love from the Netherlands, HIlda

The link isn’t working Hilda…lovely notebooks though.
