Whilst we are in lockdown many big projects have been affected, but patchworker and quilters are resiliant aren’t we, and we an always find a route through any situation to continue the great work we are doing.  Here’s a update from the team of that grew from the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

Hi everyone I’m happy to be able to post an update about the quilt. It’s been awhile.

Since we found a new space in the Latymer community Center to hold our Quilting bee we had just settled in with more members coming along to sew on a regular basis on Wednesday afternoons. We joined an already established art & craft group which made us very welcome. One of their members bringing in a home baked cake every week for us all to share with a cuppa, which is most appreciated too.

I miss all of us enjoying each other’s company sewing, sorting, cutting, designing & chatting whilst we create our individual pieces. We had also received many packages of beautiful fabric donations all of which were gladly received with much gratitude.

Although we haven’t been able to gather to sew, work has still been going on.

I’ve been sent some pictures of some amazing beautiful contributions that have been sent in from Karen a local member, Linda and also from Chris from Cambridge who has created a 12ft square panel on her own. It truly is a remarkable piece of work.

These contributions are a real testament to reaching our goal whilst we continue to see for Justice and demonstrates that Grenfell has not been forgotten and still remains in many hearts & minds despite the CV-19 crisis which we are all going through.

My sincere thank you’s to you all for your wonderful contributions.

I am deeply moved. 💚
