Well here I am, the beginning of February and dead chuffed that I did this list and even happier that the first number pulled from the dish was a Rabbit just waiting for her dress and bloomers. What a great first UFO and I got the work finished before the end of January (just). She now needs to find a new home, I’m sure she will be adopted quickly being a family of 10 girls and The Boy! I’m even intrigued now to which one will name and take her.

I pulled out another number this morning for the February UFO and its number 24 another small finishing off task and labelled as Courtney, she’s my youngest daughter and the item I have to finish I made many years ago with all good intentions of having framed, plans, have in time, changed and I shall do some more stitching to it and watch it evolve. I shall work on this over the month and with luck should get this one finished too and will update next month my progress.

I have also managed in these few weeks not to start anything new for myself but I did start and complete a small wall hanging for the Valentines shop window display, this I was allowed, as written in my resolution rules! Phew, I need a pat on the back with sticking to my New Year’s Resolutions so far into the year!!!

Charity Shops and the little gems that can be found in relation to our chosen hobbies, although for every 10-20 shops you visit you may only strike lucky once, therefore plenty of patience, leg work and scouring are required.

I’ve just returned from a lovely weekend away courtesy of my middle daughter and her partner. On one of the days and visiting a town centre I struck very lucking in finding a patchwork book, 2 Sunbonnet Sue babies pattern books, patchwork magazine and an embroidery book all for the grand sum of £7.50, together with a £2 glass candle holder (all to be revealed), considerably cheaper than buying new and at the same time giving me pleasure and doing my little bit towards the charity.

This is what I have been making with the glass dishes and candle holders that I have been purchasing from the charity shops, they are a lovely added addition to my sewing room and easily transferable to other rooms of the house when I work elsewhere.

What a brilliant idea writing a list of all the things that need finishing and picking them out at random! Love the rabbit. What a lovely gift for one of the lucky grandchildren! The valentines display is beautiful! Cannot wait to read more.

Hi Sue, thank you for your kind words. I’ve just clicked on it myself and it appears to be OK. Maybe try again. In the meantime I will see if I can get someone else to try. Let me know if successful in getting pattern.
