What’s your favourite part of quilting? Here we have a fabulous mix of piecing, applique, quilting, and even a little bit of hand sewing. So what ever takes your fancy you may like to join in with the UKQU SUMMER SEW A ROW.
I was given the top row so decided on a nature theme of a bird box, birds, bees, flowers.
I chose a five sided pentagon for the scrappy bird box.. this was fun to use up some lovely summer flowery fabrics.

Next up was the bunting…I struck lucky with some cute bird fabric…

Then I popped a little bird on the bunting and added a flower in the corner with of course a little bee after some nectar…

The bird & flower applique is raw edge stitched

To complete the picture it just needs a mirror image for the other side and some hand stitching for the bee trail.

Hope you enjoy making the SEW A ROW..row 1.
There will be more lovely rows coming over the bext few weeks to complete the quilt.
