British & American Quilts from 1800-1930

An exhibition of quilts from an exceptional private collection, exploring the quilting and patchworking traditions of Britain and America from c.1800 to 1930 has opened at The Garden Rooms at Tennants, Leyburn, North Yorkshire.

Forty colourful and beautifully preserved quilts are on display, including a selection of North Country quilts made in County Durham and Northumberland, which had a strong tradition of quilting at the turn of the 20th century.

The exhibition is free to enter, and is a must-see for any fans of needlework, quilting and textiles. It is open daily until 6th October.
