Well how are we enjoying the new website, the Bloggers are fab and so diverse, the shops are so tempting as are the free patterns. So far I have signed up for the Mystery Quilt by Abbieanne (Click here) and am excitedly awaiting its arrival.

I have also joined in to The Block of the Month. I have chosen to use my stash for this one. Had a great time going through and finding fabrics.

One of my challenges for this year to to become a better at piecing. I dream of perfect points so for me joining into the block of the month will give me the opportunity to go back to basics, take my time and hopefully get the perfect points (well we can dream). I did check out the Hints and Tips for some great tutorials.

Looking back to last months blog, i invited you to follow my progress with an instragram QAL. I, along with others are doing a Fancy Forest Quilt. Well my first blocks are done, all 16 Foxes. Very pleased with my colours and excited to see how the quilt progresses. And just how do you keep track of 40 different coloured fabric’s, well you make yourself a handy little chart.

I have also been busy quilting. Probably my favorite part of Patchwork and quilting. I love the creative side and how you can transform a quilt. I do like to do a few charity quilts, as you can generally do what you feel the quilt needs. I was lucky enough to be involved with the Grenfell Quilts and ended up quilting just over 50. You can read all about the group here, such a worthy cause and a fantastic group to be part of.

Next month is an exciting month for me, I go on my first retreat. I am taking the opportunity to finish some UFO’s and yet to be started quilts. I have already started a list of what to take and am wondering if my car will be big enough to get it all in. So news of that to come and hopefully a review.

I am also working on some free patterns, but more of those in next months blog, see you all in March.
