In January 2018 we set a challenge to the Six Administrators of UK Quilters United to choose a quilt from the ones the members posted onto the Facebook group feed.

They were transferred to Competition Corner and throughout February people are voting for their favourites.  We asked each of the quiltmakers to tell their story for you all to read.

Trudy thought  I was joking when I told her that her quilt had been picked to be part of the February Competition!

This is the story of Trudy’s Quilt

A UFO that finally got finished this year, it was made as a housewarming present for her Step Mother and Dad when they moved down to Devon. Her Step Mother is into chakra colours but bright colours are not Trudy’s thing so she kept picking it up and putting it down as she wasn’t sure about it. In the time it took her parents to raze and rebuild their cottage she made several other quilts, dresses and a pair of curtains but this remained unfinished. With the 2nd anniversary of their move looming she decided it had to be finished. It was gifted just last week and her Step Mother loves it (well of course, so do we!) As Trudy said, it just goes to show what is one person’s taste isn’t anothers’.

Made with a Bali Pop and Pintrest inspiration.

Throughout February voting is brisk, so if you have not already done so make sure you place your vote for your favourite.   One lucky voter will win a pair of tickets to a Grosvenor Show of their choice.   Click  Competition Corner
