How can you share your love of quilting with the rest of the world?

Well you could get a quilty t-shirt – there are loads and the best way to find one is with a Google as there are so many different places you can get them from.

If t-shirts aren’t your style, how about jewellery? etsy is the best place to start with hundreds of quilting and sewing-themed items. Just watch for the postage and customs charges! etsy has sellers from all over the world though so don’t get stung.

Amazon has some cute pieces too if you like to shop on the safe side, but my favourite Amazon find has to be this giant thimble which comes in silver and gold. Mine’s right next to me holding my pens on my desk. Always search under quilting and sewing because a lot of button , scissor, thread etc items may not be tagged with quilting too.

While you’re on Amazon, they have loads of quilting jigsaws, loads! it’s crazy, who knew there would be so many? These are tagged under sewing , and these under quilting.

The reason for this blog is actually a quilting board game I bought the other day. It’s for two people and is surprisingly fun. You collect buttons to trade for patches to complete your quilt so there’s some strategy involved, and working out how you are going to land on the prized leather patches! ooooo! I think Ashley  could be persuaded to play again too, and if it’ll hold a 15 year old boy’s attention and get him to spend time with his mum playing a board game about quilting, it’s gotta be pretty good?!

How about shoes? I found this great blog about customising a pair of tennis shoes with your favourite quilting-themed fabric. And if tennis shoes aren’t for you, how about using the same tutorial to recreate these £300 Pucci heels? Or if you really want to go for it, you can have custom-made Vans tennis shoes by uploading a picture of your favourite fabric here

Of course I saved the best for last, ukqu merchandise!

A book full of stories by members of UK Quilters United is available on Amazon in Kindle and print formats. And of course Badges, keyrings and more with our logo on can be found in the UKQU shop!
