I was really pleased to receive sample squares of this traditional Christmas fabric – ‘traditional’ is not my usual thing so I was looking forward to a challenge and being able to make whatever I liked with it.
Classic Christmas is made up of 10 different prints in green, red, cream and gold in a good range of Christmas prints – those little robins are so cute and definitely my favourite. The fabric in general is very bright and the gold is very dominant – so if metallics are not your thing then this fabric is not for you, but who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle at Christmas time?
There were so many different projects I thought of making, the squares provided were 8″ so I thought about how to get the most out of it and eventually settled on cutlery holders – there will be a separate post with a tutorial on how you can make your very own.
The fabric is really great to work with, high quality which didn’t fray at all and glided through my sewing machine with ease. A super quick and easy project to make, each one measures 8″ x 4″ and I managed to get 4 done in just over an hour including hand sewing the binding. I love them so much I’ve got another 4 ready to be sewn up!
I’d certainly recommend ‘Classic Christmas’ to anyone looking for a bit of traditional Christmas sparkle, they would make fabulous Christmas stockings!
