As years go by, it is so easy to just do the things we always do. During one of my community classes, one of my students asked me to show her how to do mitred corners on the borders of her quilt. It made me realise how long ago it was since I did any mitred corners.
Why would you want to mitre your corners? It’s particularly effective when you have a directional pattern on your fabric, especially stripes. You can keep the continuity of the pattern going around the quilt.
If you would like to try it on your next quilt, you may find this video useful.
If you give it a go, do let us know and share your photos. Look forward to seeing them.
