For protecting outer fabric when pressing and fusing.

This new non-woven pressing IRON ON Cloth from Vlieseline has been specifically designed for use with fusible interlinings, making it suitable for a wide range of sewing, patchwork and quilting projects. By protecting the outer fabric when fusing, the IRON ON Cloth prevents glossy spots on heat sensitive or dark fabrics.

The IRON ON Cloth also protects your iron from sticky residue which sometimes happens, no matter how careful you are.

IRON ON becomes transparent when moistened making it so much easier to see the fabrics being fused, thereby removing all the guesswork! Use of the cloth allows distribution of steam from the iron to be controlled more easily which protects the fabric from any discolouration or distress which may occur through heat fusion as well as any shiny spots.

I received a pack to trial and found these cloths to be useful. When teaching in Strictly Quilting HQ we regularly use fusible materials and, as I have a wonderful Olio iron, I do try and keep it protected from those sticky, hard to remove traces of glues. These cloths work to protect the base of my iron brilliantly. They are similar to using a tea towel, but have an advantage. Because they are non-woven they are perfectly flat, which gives your a perfectly flat finish when pressing. I also used them dry, which worked well too.

The IRON ON Cloth is made from a composition of 70% Viscose and 30% cellulose and is suitable for reuse. Two 60cm x 44cm cloths are included per pack.

To use:

1.    Moisten the IRON ON Cloth with water

2.    Place the IRON ON Cloth on the fusible interlining while wet and iron dry together with the outer fabric.

3.    Iron setting should be warm
