      Please discuss…

Option 1: Everyone reads the same book at the same time:
Should we select a book and read that “together”? What should be our first book and how long would we leave everyone to get hold of it and read it? After the set time, would we like to discuss the book in the Forum pages?

Option 2: Reviews of various books / series in Forum
Create a Forum Topic for each series (or book if standalone) and those who has read it can join in the chat for each. This would enable everyone to read at their own speed.

Option 3: The Book Club provides a list of suggested books / series
“Just leave me to read the books I like, in my own order and time. I don’t really fancy chatting about the books.” More low key.

      Option 4: ????
      What would work for you?

      Please discuss.
      x

I like the idea of option 1. If we have different book series posted or just book titles etc I am bound to get lost and miss interesting titles. Of course I will go with the flow as they say. 😀📔

I think option one would be good, but if someone hadn’t finished in the proposed time frame, or they just didn’t like the book they could just not enter into the discussion. I suppose that’s maybe more like option 2 really 🙄 However, there may be other books that people have read that they’d like to recommend or otherwise that maybe wouldn’t be readily available for everyone to buy so they could be stand alone reviews (hopefully without spoilers). I’m thinking of those random books you sometimes pick up at fetes or jumble sales.

Just realised how to do this … and we only went and created the website didnt we! hehe.
So personally, I would like to have a book recommended and read a chapter at a time .. and discuss the plot lines and characters. I am a lazy reader and often skim over important elements. This way would concentrate me more. Then a forum for the book can be used to explore our thoughts about that book .. an organic discussion of the Novel. Lets leave the pattern books and such to the website reviews. This comment is not endorsed by any affiliations hehe. My only concern is my lack of available time to read, which I enjoy almost as much as sewing and with work and website hardly have enough time for that1 But lets relax and have fun!

I like the Option 1. I used to belong to a Book Club and this is what we used to do. As I have never read a ‘Quilting’ Novel before I look forward to the recommendations.

      Feel free to join the discussion in the Forum;

There’s one Topic announcing the title, and another to discuss the book as you read it (or at the end if you don’t want any spoilers!).

      Happy reading!

Would anyone like to Admin the book club discussions?
I am going to focus on the Facebook group, which is also where future books will be announced.
I have a murder mystery ready for May (first in a series of 10+ books!) and a historical fiction / women’s story for June. Lots of interesting books coming up!

      Thank you for adding me.
I’ll join in with the next book – when will the title be released??

Helen, thank you for joining the book club.
The books will be selected monthly, so next book will be for May. Expect it to be announced at the end of April/early May.
