… ‘Alias Grace’, by Margaret Atwood.

This is a big contrast to ‘The Quilter’s Apprentice’, and is quite a weighty read. It’s widely available, and if you just cannot face reading it in this unending heat, there’s also a TV version on Netflix.

Be warned that it does have some quite grim scenes in it though.

I look forward to seeing what you think of this….

I read this a while back and almost gave up as I found it very hard going at first, but I persevered and then enjoyed it. If I recall correctly I wasn’t too happy with the ending but I now can’t remember why.

I’m finding this book a little slower than the earlier ones, but it’s getting better.
They have an article on ‘the quilts of Alias Grace’ which is interesting.

This one took me a while. I did enjoy it in the end and will watch the film too. I feel like I need some notes to help me pick up all the meanings in this book.
