Who doesn’t love Miffy, and how appropriate that they have this fabric coming out just before Easter. Who doesn’t love a cute little rabbit at Easter. And it’s such pretty colours too. Although this fabric is definitely not just for Easter. If you don’t know who Miffy is, click here.
I had originally intended to try out a few new blocks with this fabric, but when it arrived it was too cute to be cut up into small pieces, I think Miffy would have disappeared. And quite a few of the prints are directional, and I’m a bit OCD about getting the fabric design the right way up.
The fabric is lovely quality, they fat quarters were square, some were slightly bigger than others, but none were smaller than a fat quarter. And the design was printed squarely on the fabric.
I’d said I’d make blocks for the Quilts for Care Leavers project [Q4CL} with any fabric I was sent to review, so once I’d received this fabric and decided not to go with my original plan I thought just plain blocks would be good to show off the pattern. Sometimes fabrics just talk to you, don’t they. So I simply cut them into 6″ squares and joined. Now somewhere along the way, a few blocks ended up being not quite the 6″ square I needed. So a quick stash dive produced some coordinating fabric, and the layout was planned. Still not enough squares to make the quilt big enough, so I cut the not quite big enough squares and joined with my bit of coordinating fabric, and mixed these squares in. I think they add a bit of interest to the layout.
If you like Miffy then you must buy this fabric, if you want fabric for an Easter project then you must buy this fabric, if you want to make a baby quilt, then this fabric is for you, and lastly if you’re a fabricaholic then you must have this in your stash. It really is a fabric for everyone.
