During May we are going to read The Basement Quilt by Ann Hazlewood.

In this book, we are getting to know Anne Brown as well as her family and friends. The story evolves around Anne, a charismatic and bubbly florist, whose daily ups and downs will be very familiar to many.

Anne decides to learn how to quilt to help her Aunt, at the same time as the Colebridge community are going through some major life changes. The quilting bee meets in the basement of Anne’s family home and as the quilting is being done, they all get to know each other better and better. As the saying goes, ‘what happens in the basement, stays in the basement!’

This is the first book in the series of seven books about the Colebridge Community and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of you will read at least some of the other books in the series too.
