Last year my friend bought me some Cloggies for my birthday and I loved them.
When I opened them and tried them on, I was very surprised to find how comfy and roomy they were…but hang on…one was roomier than the other! We soon realised that my lovely friend had picked up two different sizes. After a giggle and a hug, she said she would change them at the local garden centre, which she duly did and I now wear them every day for popping out in the garden.
But they soon got a bit shabby, so I had a plan.

I decided to make some new fresh insoles..quilted of course!
First I found some pretty fabric in my stash and ironed it on to some spare Bosal (foam stiffener) leftover from bag making.

Then simply quilted it with a couple of embroidery stitches on my machine.

Next I pinned the old insoles to trace round.

Using a close zig zag stitch I machined round on the markings.

Finally, I cut them out close to the stitching…and what a difference!

I washed the Cloggies in the washing machine with some bulky items so they didn’t clunk around.
Popped the new fresh insoles inside…don’t they look lovely? Fresh as a daisy!

I made another a pair for my friend…both the same size though 😉

Brilliant!!
Great use of Bosal off-cuts. Pretty neat Lyn.
What a good idea, I might make some new insoles for my winter boots although I think using Insulbrite left over from oven glove making might be taking the thermal properties a step too far!
Haha! Thanks Teresa.
