Like so many of ‘us quilters’ I’m always delighted when I get chance to buy fabric. My nearest places are anything from 15 to 30 miles away and in the opposite direction to where I live or work. Working full time means I don’t have much time to visit these places and browsing online doesn’t always do the fabric justice … and you can’t stroke the fabric online can you?
Sylvia from UKQU.co.uk website knows that I visit my family in Teeside regularly and, as I often post my fabric purchases in our Our Quilty Pleasures Facebook group, they know too!
PANICO’S has become my ‘go-to’ store; so much so that my daughter’s opening phrase now include the words, ‘Coffee, and I suppose you will want to go buy fabric!’
Sylvia also knows that whenever I head over to see my grand-children, I just have to visit Panico’s on Bishopton Lane, Stockton-on-Tees and, as yet, I’ve never walked away without buying something!
Imagine my surprise when, out of the blue, Sylvia asked to do some feature blogs for Panico’s. Trialling another direction for our bloggers and supporting our fabric retailers … how could I not agree to this?
I’ve got lots of ideas buzzing in my head but I’m not going to say much now because this weekend I’m heading ‘up North’ to see my grandchildren. All I will say is that it’s an Aladdin’s cave for all things sewing (and knitting) and, you can even buy coffee and cake!
I have been rumbled though; my daughter guessed there was more than ‘just coming up for the weekend’ as it’s a 100 mile trip for me one-way. I had to confess that I planned to meet up with Carl from Panico’s and ask lots of questions about everything ‘PANICO’S.op
BTW they have opened a shop, online, right here at UKQU
So, watch this space … I am thinking there will be lots more to come
Happy Sewing everyone
