Guess who’s back, and found her sewing mojo !! MEEEE!

I recently attended the long awaited Annual Blogger retreat where we were treated to a number of free gifts to use and review.

The first of these was a super cute fat quarter pack called Cherries Jubilee from the CRAFT COTTON COMPANY

We were also given the chance to test a selection of BOSAL products, including this pre-cut Chef Mitt.

I recently made an oven mitt out of Insul-bright, but my Husband (who is the cook in the house) said it was not thick enough, so I thought this would be a perfect product review.

Using 2 of the fat-quarters from the fat quarter pack I sandwiched and quilted both pieces of the Oven mitt, before joining together.

Not gonna lie, BOSAL is thick. Really, really thick! Maybe it was my sewing machine or the needles, but I did break several during this project. If I was at home I would have used one of my other machines that have more oomph and probably a denim needle. That said I got there in the end.

Using one of the other fat quarters in the pack, I made some bias binding (first time ever!). Thanks to my retreat buddies, Christine, Linda, Cheryl and Juliet for encouragement. I then machined sewed the binding on one side, and hand finished the other side (over several Gins!) The end result is not half bad. Not my best work, but thanks to the THICK BOSAL , It will stop my husbands hands from burning.

Till Next time, happy sewing all!!
