For those that have read some of my previous Christmas blogs may suspect that I am a Bah Humbug. But this year I wanted to do something a little different, as we have recently become a blended family and we have the joy of readymade grandchildren.

We will be going to their house for Christmas dinner. So I thought I would do a fun Christmas centre piece for the table. The vision I had in my head, was not how it materialised. I made it up as I went along, so some of it is very rough and ready. However, it is designed to be fun and something you may wish to do with children or friends. I am sure there will be lots of wonderful interpretations of it.

I worked on the theme of the twelve days of Christmas song and over the next 12 blogs I will be covering items in the list, working backwards from 12. I will write a step-by-step guide of how to make each item. Starting with the Christmas tree and working backwards, the angel as the final piece.

On the twelve’s days of Christmas the sewer gave to me:

12 layers of Christmas tree

11 felt chains

10 ten button baubles

9 sparkle stars

8 felt bells

7 candy canes

6 Xmas presents

5 fancy bows

4 Santa stockings

3 holy leaves

2 Xmas puddings

And an angel for my tree.

I hope you enjoy them…

…My next blog in the series is 12 Layers of Christmas Tree.
