Are you enjoying all the different flower blocks and the different techniques used? I’ve loved seeing them all.
This is my second block and this time I had in mind summer days and daisy chains. Do you remember school playtimes, sat on the field making bracelets and necklaces of daisies? They were happy days and I hope to evoke some of that summer feeling in this block.
As with my first flower block, I’ve used raw edge appliqé to keep a childlike quality and I’ve used a bit of artistic license to get the look I wanted. Before any botanists jump on to comment, I do know that daisies have one stem per flower! These are my special daisies for my special block and these have two.
The instructions and templates are available in the shop here, along with all the other blocks. I’ve finished mine with free motion quilting and I’ll team it with my other block at some stage. I need to decide if it will be cushion cover or wall hanging. What are you doing with yours?
Sometime next month, I’ll be doing a live online class demonstrating this technique. I’ll share details with you as soon as I have the date confirmed. In the meantime, happy sewing and don’t forget to share your photos.
