An interesting a lovely read. Makes me wish I was back in UK….. there are no quilters nearby, nor wannabes! But I would love to be a member of a quilt sewing group. Oh well, the sun is calling……. thank you Sylvia. X

Very interesting. Never really thought of cutting up ugly fabric into smaller pieces to make it beautiful! Thanks for the good read

Thank you Ruth, I learned new things about them too, and I enjoyed making the wall hanging. Was going to give it away – but somehow it has found its way on to my workshop wall….. xx

Good idea to mount the Daffodil as a picture, I did that with my Landmarks and I am so pleased with it. Even on the darkest day – your daffodill will shine out. Xx

When I was asked by Sylvia to write about Bluebells, I was intrigued and so set about finding as much information as I could. As most people in the UK who are Gardeners will tell you – the UK has been inundated with…

Wow your piece is really interesting and now I know why I am puzzled by some blue bells looking different! Thank you Sue. The piece is really lovely. Hope you are well and safe over in sunny Spain.

Great design, love the background fabric too. Clever idea and so different from the usual Embroidery Ring clock…

Love the clean line look on this Mini Quilt. What a great alternative to the Wedding Ring design.

Like this idea, when I tried to make the Camden Bowl (more or less same idea) I stitched the inner edge. Probably contributed to the bowl shape. Will definitely try this one…. thanks Lyn

What a great wall hanging! I like the fabrics used especially as they were scraps. I am glad you enjoyed doing this, it is good to learn new tricks. Recognised the Humber Bridge from your interpretation. I really liked doing mine too. Like you, I am looking forward to the next challenge. Home we have more of these Famous Places!

The building is fascinating. We hated it when it appeared with its ‘old bicycle wheels’ struck on the outside but when it is lit up in the evenings it is stunning. The inside, and the roof terraces, are clean and inviting with lots of comfy seating places to read your books or just contemplate the world or view the exhibitions. Rumour had it that they had run out of money to stock new books so it isn’t rammed to the rooftops – but technology plays a part in that, this is a fab design and looks lovely in the picture frame Sue. The frame reinforces the clean lines seen on this modern building. Well done – it is a lovely representation! .

What lovely quilting! It certainly complements your accurate design. Angles and curves all in one place. I really enjoyed reading this blog. It brought back many memories, as I used both the lovely old Reference Library ( when I was a student) and the Central Library. This was new then (when taking my Finals in 1974). I was rather shocked that it was being replaced after only 40 years and very amused to see that the upside-down ziggurat has been replaced by a another, right-side-up ziggurat!

Like the fact that the two sides are different coloured. Also, self healing sounds good. Would like to see how long the mat keeps itself ‘healing’. Thanks for the information.

If I needed a new mat – I would definately consider one of these. Your concise review is excellent, the way you used various and different fabrics really proved that the mat is worth buying. Thanks Margaret.
