On the members page it would be good to be able to actually able to search members by name. There is a search bar on the page, but it is for the site in general not for members. Or alternatively you could have letters under the sort by box, so you can at least start from the letter your looking for. Hope that makes sense?

Hi Fiona, There are a few of us LA quilters that are also bloggers on the site that would be more than happy to answer any questions you have regarding FMQ. I like many started quilting on my domestic machine. If you would like to see a blog om FMQ please feel free to ask.

I love to start by choosing the central fabric which can showcase nice large patterned design as you will need 10″ square of it. You can then use the same fabric…

Welcome to my UKQU world…
Four years ago I made a Facebook group to fill a void. A void where quilters sewed alone, we needed to moan about rising cotton prices and find out which fabric shops are still going. S…

Thank you, loving the site…plus it’s good to know my small pile of UFO’s are not that extreme yet hahahaha.

The site is looking great. Looking forward to all the new developments.

Well done Juliette, getting one finished, albeit by someone else, is a starting point. Also well done with the website. Little acorns and all that.
-
Great intro Juliet, yes you have lots to finish, I know I have seen the boxes lol. Looking forward to your next one. The website is such a good resource centre for us all.
It is great to see your dream is coming true, through you I have found some amazing friends, which includes you at the top. -
I love the orange quilt Juliet – traditional with a twist of citrus! You really must finish it.
-
And thankgoodness you did. Or none of ys would be able to see lovely things like these!

These tops are fantastic Juliet, you must finish them when you can. And thank you for starting up this site in time for when I began my quilting journey, it’s been a treasure trove of information, advice and the wow factor for me.

Hello
I’ve just finished a project I’ve been busy on and I am very interested in your lovely bom, do you have a fabrics requirements list if I want to use my own fabrics?-
Hi Sarah, yes, there’s a requirements list for the Mystery BOM. 12 different fabrics, with a guideline to colouring that cross to the colours I’ve used, but obviously you can do a completely different mix.
Each monthly pattern has a ‘Key’ to indcate which of your fabrics to use where instead of my choice.
You can purchase the block patterns at your own pace via my UKQU shop. I still have a couple of kits available for each month if you wanted to use the Mackower fabrics as I have.
Many thanks! Ab x

Val Brooks wrote a new post, How to prevent your machine from dragging your fabric into the needle plate 8 years, 5 months ago
A common problem when sewing fine fabrics or small pieces together is that your machine seems to want to ‘eat’ them. Here’s one way of overcoming that issue.
Simply place a small piece of paper under the fabri…

Juliet Nice wrote a new post, Quilting Acronyms 8 years, 5 months ago
Do you know you UFO’s from your WIP’s? Quilters have acronyms for everything!
BC = bias cutBOB = Beginner’s Only Block (swap)
BOM = Block of the Month
DF = double fold
DSM = Domestic Sewing M…

-
Never heard of some of these, others made me laugh!
-
You beat me too it!
-
Brilliant – not heard some of these!
-
Would be helpful for those who don’t know the meanings, if acronyms were hypelinked or popup created across the website linked to this list. Saves getting asked frequently what it means.
Perhaps I should post this in website suggestions? -
CRAFT = cannot remember a flipping thing! I often have craft moments!
