Just made a couple of these and managed to get one decoration out of two pieces from a layer cake. The inside of a roll of sellotape was just the correct size for drawing the circles

I’ve done a lot of EPP on the go, but I never thought about using fabric as a base for foundation piecing on the go. Will give it a try as it opens out the possibilities a whole lot more.

Interesting read. I have done various C & G courses (but not this one), and thoroughly enjoyed them. I had heard of this distance learning course (I live in Spain – nothing like that here) and wondered if it was for me…. I think you are right though, when you said you needed people to bounce ideas off – makes the process a lot more exciting. Well done on completing the course. Thank you for sharing your experience.

These are lovely Mary. Not sure if my FMQ would be as perfect as yours, but I am sure straight lines would hold it in place just as well. Look forward to seeing the quilt stand – we were talking about these at our sewing group just this last weekend. x
