It was raining quite heavily overnight in Cornwall, well to be honest it was chucking it down! Wind, rain, loads of noise, cold and horrid basically……. I was awake about 4.30, so I truddles off into the front room…

I have been somewhat absent over on this website due to a variety of reasons – not least a house move. In the end it turned out that we had one week from exchange to completion. That was one week to pack up my l…

Way way back many centuries ago…okay, many moons ago a suggestion was made: who would be interested in going on a sewing retreat? (Who can name the musical referred to here?!) This seemed like a dream come true – a w…

That feeling had always been in the back of my mind too but seeing everyone at the retreat emphasised the fact everyone had their place and fitted in. It was such a lovely weekend
-
Indeed it was Jane – and I’m looking forward to the next one!

-
Just relived it reading your blog! Especially the pinging of the messages at some dreadful hours! . Great weekend – nice account Christine.
-
Thank you Ruth! It was indeed a great weekend!

-
I smiled when reading your blog, as it brought back lovely memories of the weekend.
Strange isn’t it, how we expect someone to be based on posts and comments on FB, just to find them very different in real life! x-
Very true Nina – and I’m glad the blog made you smile!

Almost 30 of the volunteer bloggers for the ukqu.co.uk website came together for the first time in real life at the weekend. Many of us have been blogging and ‘met’ each other online for the last year, but this was…

Such lovely projects Nina. It is hard when you borrow someone else’s machine isn’t it? So glad that you got on with it!
-
Thank you Abi. A new machine always take some time to get used to, that’s why I picked the curved blocks! Saying that, Ruth’s machine gave me a beautiful 1/4″ seam so I needn’t have worried at all!

What a beautiful cat! I am so glad he us ok. A point well worth making….£900! I knew there was a reason I keep my cats out if the sewing room. Not to joke though-one of them sits on my footpedal, so they are banned.

Better safe than sorry! I don’t begrudge the money, he’s one of my Baby’s, but it could have been avoided, especially before Christmas. x

Oh Abbie, what beautiful pussycats …I’m so glad he’s okay just goes to show how quickly things like that can happen and thankfully he managed to wake you so you realised quickly. I have 2 labs who although I grudge the ridiculous extortionate insurance every month , one of them is a dustbin and I’ve had several near misses with foreign objects …socks in particular have to be kept well out of reach but we do love them ❤️ Hope puddy cat has an uneventful recovery ❤️

Hi Frances, he’s a very lucky Baby Boy, I’d never have forgiven myself if the worst happened! He’s a sneak, bless him! x
