Should we select a book and read that “together”? What should be our first book and how long would we leave everyone to get hold of it and read it? After the set time, would we like to discuss the book in the Forum pages?Option 2: Reviews of various books / series in…[Read more]

Nina wrote a new post, Quilting fiction books – UKQU book club? 8 years, 2 months ago
We all love quilting and patchwork, and it doesn’t have to stop with the planning and creation of quilts! There are plenty of fiction books available where quilts, quilting and quilters are featured. Also, with the…

A great idea and Nina, as long as I can listen and quilt at the same time. Looking forward to the selections.

Elizabeth, the first title is available on Audible!!

Still finding this site very frustrating but just wanted to say I have read The Last Runaway and found it a good read. Not saying much else as don’t want to spoil it for others and also think I am supposed to put my review elsewhere if only I could work out how todo it

Let’s hope the spring is finally here (no more snow please!) It’s so nice to open the doors and windows in the house for more than just 5 minutes to get some fresh air and new energy in. Before we dive into…

Good idea Vendulka, tomorrow’s job

Oh how I wish…! I have a sewing room and a crafting room. My crafting room is more planned than the sewing room, but one of my stepsons came back to live with us last year, and I said he could use the crafting room for storage short term…obviously we have different ideas about what short term actually is. I have been trying to finish off WIPs and PHDs recently, including getting projects hung in the home, and I finished a quilt top 3 weeks ago that I’ve been working on, on and off, for 6 years. Problem now is finding the time to quilt it! I’d love to get going in my sewing room today, but alas, work calls!

Great idea, the forum already exists, new subject threads can be set up anytime, not sure it could replace Facebook as that serves a specific purpose but an additional place for views and help would be quite simple to set up.
We already have a knowledge base on the site, but it could do with more input, if anyone wants to help out then feel free…[Read more]

Do you have lots of WIPs, PHDs or UFOs? If you’re not sure what these are take a look at Juliet’s post here. If you know what they are and have lots then read on ….
One way to get motivated to get them finis…

Loved your blog Abigail I’m a great starter of things (head just brimming over with ideas, and defo a bit out of control lol) and in an ideal world I would finish it provided life didn’t get in my way!!! It does though, of course I’ve signed up to catch your blogs too. X

Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment Ingrid. I think many of us are the same – sometimes we have to get something out of our head even if we don’t finish it straight away …. to free up some space for more ideas!!!

Great blog, Abigail. Lovely to see the Stash Bee quilt finished – that’s such wonderful riot of colour and pattern! We all need some motivation to clear those UFOs! Looking forward to seeing your progress next quarter. The Hathaway Exhibition last weekend was my motivator – talk about just in time Xx
-
Lovely to see you here Karen!! So today is the 01 April and there’s not that many ticked off the list …. oh well they can roll over to Quarter 2! A quilt show is always a good motivator in my opinion.
