UKQU BOOK CLUB 8 years, 2 months agoJust started the book last night. Read 4 chapters – thoroughly enjoyed the book so far. The references to the quilts are good. The part where the heroine works in a Miliners is great – I did a C & G course for 2 years in Millinery and taught for a year – bought it all back! Wonderful…. Can’t wait to pick up again tonight. Thank you so much…[Read more]

I don’t know about you, but I hate throwing anything away in my sewing room. Snippets of thread, yarn, and fabric must have a useful purpose, but what do you do with them? Do you have uses for them, or do you find i…

Hey everyone, in my last post I talked about how I dealt with my UFO’s. This time I am talking about stashes. The thing non-crafters don’t understand is, we are all secret hoarders. Well maybe not all of us, they may…

Love it
As a newbie I actually envy your stash and I’d love a box of scraps. Sadly I have a very long way to go before I walk in your shoes-
Aww thank you Ingrid. Your feedback is very much appreciated. We are all at different stages of our journeys. I’m no where near as talented as a lot of the ladies in our group.

UKQU BOOK CLUB 8 years, 2 months agoI have made a start, and having just checked one of the Quilt Patterns mentioned I am surprised how it has lasted the test of time, and been reinterpreted in modern day patterns too. the Star of Bethlehem is one I had not heard about previously, but with so many patterns that doesn’t surprise me one bit. The book, I am finding, is engrossing and…[Read more]

UKQU BOOK CLUB 8 years, 2 months agoJust realised how to do this … and we only went and created the website didnt we! hehe.
So personally, I would like to have a book recommended and read a chapter at a time .. and discuss the plot lines and characters. I am a lazy reader and often skim over important elements. This way would concentrate me more. Then a forum for the…[Read more] -

UKQU BOOK CLUB 8 years, 2 months agoFor me it would be option 1 which would encourage me to read more if theres a deadline. I wonder, does it have to be the whole book at once, or perhaps a chapter a given time period .. discuss, explore the plot and ideas and then continue?
