I’m delighted to be involved in the UKQU baby event and thought I would make a baby’s taggie. I needed some hand stitching to make the most of the beautiful sunny days, something to stitch in the garden..perfection!
It’s a long time since I have done any EPP (english paper piecing for newbies) and really enjoyed the relaxed time listening to the birds singing their little hearts out.
I decided on Tumbling Blocks, very apt for a baby project and dived in my stash to find some bright colours that little babies love.

Tacked the diddy papers in….

And stitched them together….in the correct order….

Chose a green gingham background and stitched in place…
Layered up,quilted and trimmed off…

The ribbon box didn’t let me down…perfect colours…stitched in to hold…

Thought I would stitch across the corner, so no sharp points to hurt baby’s eyes. Next, I found a bright backing to attach. Trimmed off with pinking shears and turned through.

A little more quilting and stitched around the edge, and it’s ready for gifting to a friend’s new grandson in Holland.
