Another challenge announced and before I know it my name has been put forward and appeared on the list to be part of it! How does that happen?

Due to time restraints I had to rethink my original offering and decided to go along with something that I know off by heart and what I demonstrate when I hold my ‘getting to know your sewing machine workshops’ for those of us even to scared to take the machine from the box, together with the fact I have these little bags dotted all over the house and at work.

I have them holding makeup, hair brushes (I must now make another to hold my newly purchased hair straighteners), I have my mug in one at work, one for my machine foot pedal and lead and various sized ones around and about holding numerous unfinished pieces of work, (as one does).

Once I sorted the fabric (from my stash) that I was going to use to demonstrate the making and that a granddaughters birthday was due and ideal to put her presents in, I used 2 pieces of metre lengths of matching girlie fabric.

Fed-up with my ever increasing scraps I decided to use as much of the fabric from these 2 metres that I could thereby keeping scrap fabric to a minimum. This is how the Trio of Reversible Bags was born; a need to dumb down my scraps and my stash too. The great thing about this pattern is the bag can be made in absolutely any size and can be used for anything that needs bagging and hide away, hook away or even take away with you.

Book bag – make-up bag – lunch bag – kiddies shoe bag – present wrap bag – hat & gloves bag – you name it and a bag can be made for it.

Happy bag making – pattern can be downloaded here .
