It seems to be all or nothing with me! I’m either sewing as often as possible or not at all. I’m still working through the redwork for a twelve days of Christmas quilt, which I’m testing. It’s a free block of the month from  niftyneedles.com

I’m caught up with appliqué at free  fatcats.com bom, just need to sew around them. I decided to play and experiment with free motion at the weekend when I had a sewing day. I remembered to breath and tried not to hunch over, although my shoulders have ached ever since! It started a bit wobbly but I persisted and I’m impressed how well I improved, I’m still a long way from perfect but the scariest part is over. I even chose to free motion the postcard I have completed for the ukqu postcard swap.

I had a free day a while ago so I thought I would start on my nephews Bargello. I acquired a blue to grey jelly roll at festival of quilts last year so I bit the bullet and joined it together. Then I began the scary process of cutting and joining, I ensured the joins were ironed in opposite directions so the butted together. It came together rather quickly but I was a little disappointed with how slim the one jelly roll became as a Bargello. It will work perfectly when I add borders.
