I used the same pattern I drew for my Painted Lupin blog to make a second Lupin for the Garden Flowers Blog Hop 2020. Yes, I am that lazy;)
The pattern includes lupin stalks going right and left, one bigger than the other, plus two different sized leaves. You can change the size in your printer settings and use one lupin stalk or fifteen, it’s up to you.
The pattern is sized for a 12” square block (12 ½” unfinished)

I used the pattern the same as before to transfer the design on my fabric but this time to the WRONG side as that is the side you’ll be sewing on. Yes I know the picture is upside down, it did that all on it’s own and who am I to tell it what to do :/

So anyway, I laid fabric right-side-up on the FRONT of my block background, flipped the whole thing over and free-motioned on the WRONG side.

The you flip it over again and trim the fabric around all the little parts of the Lupin

Tah dah! It’s much easier than cutting out all those tiny pieces, bondawebbing them on and then sewing around them.
Again, the pattern is free and available in the UKQU Merchandise shop here. To buy a pattern you add it to your cart, complete checkout without adding any payment details and when you complete you get to a page where you can download the pattern.
You can use one pattern and make multiple blocks or download all the patterns in the Blog Hop to make a truly special multi-technique Garden Flower quilt.
When you post pictures of your make, use the tag #GFBH2020 so they can all be seen together.
The rest of the patterns will be HERE as they become available throughout September
