Following on from my 2 Xmas Puddings.
On the twelve’s days of Christmas the sewer gave to me an Angel for my tree.

You will need:
• Felt
• Needle and matching thread for hand sewing (optional)
• Scissors
• Hot Glue gun and glue sticks (optional)
• Beads or buttons (optional)
These ornaments have been made very quickly and simply because I have also factored in not only time, but something you might want to make with children.
If you have been following all the way through, thank you, we are finally onto the angel, and as like other blogs. The template is found in the link above.
I made the tree and ornaments over the course of two nights work so they are all rough and ready. Had I thought about it more my angel would have been a little fancier. However, there is still beauty in plainness.

Once I cut out the angel I hand sewed it together with a blanket stitch around the edges. I left the face blank but put a few running stitches on the wings. If you want to give the angel a face, then I would recommend doing so on a single layer before adding the back.
Of course like all the previous options you could glue the angel together and add a few more fancy bits to the wings, such as beads and or buttons or even glitter in the glue.

I hope you enjoyed the Angel, as well as the rest of the Christmas tree and ornaments.
Of course my tree looks more like a pile of children’s decorations then a fancy table centre piece, but you do not have to have all the decorations on it and can pick and refine the ones you like the most. Or you may not have even chosen to make some of the decorations in the first place.

Things I would have done differently were I to do it again:
• Make the tree larger at the base.

• Remake the smaller chain and make lots more of it.

• Not make the thread quite so long on the button baubles. This I will be going back to alter.

• Use vinyl for the stars and keep them plain.

• I liked the bells, although I wish I had used vinyl and felt. Or at the very least made them silver bells instead. I went with the orange as it was the nearest I had to gold.

• I did not like my Candy Canes, but for the piece they worked.

• The Xmas presents, I wished I had taken a little more time with them and maybe made them double sided.

• The fancy bows came out better than I thought they would.

• The Santa stockings l liked plain and I am glad I did not alter them.

• Again I liked the holly leafs.

• The Xmas puddings, I wish I had made them double sided and added two layers to them.

• And for the angel, I wish I had given her a little more character.

But overall, not bad for a make and test on the go.
