This is so helpful Carolyn, it’s something I struggle with sometimes, especially when buying fabric. I end up with lots of beatiful unusual prints in gorgeous bright colours, then when I sit down to make something I find I have to get online and buy some plains. Thanks for writing such a comprehensive blog post on the topic .

What an inspiring post Amy, thank you. I’m going to make a stocking, it’ll be nice to be reunited with my Christmas fabrics.

Scrap-busting siddi-inspired goozundar mat
In this post I want to show you how I made a small mat to go under (goozundar) using scraps and inspired by the siddi technique of quilting, that I read about in…

Nice project – using those small squares and just appliqueing them down with the quilting really does make it quick and easy, and very effective.
