UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years, 8 months agoEnjoying it more than I thought I would…not my usual style but light easy reading that doesn’t tax me too much. Perfect for when I can’t sleep 🙂

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years, 8 months agoJust finished the September book. Was ok. Bit of light reading that i could pick up and put down. Bit predictable. However I do love a happy ending lol. Looking forward to October’s book.

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years, 9 months agoThis one took me a while. I did enjoy it in the end and will watch the film too. I feel like I need some notes to help me pick up all the meanings in this book.

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years, 9 months agoI didn’t like this one. Maybe a warning about the amount of ill health in it too.

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years, 9 months ago‘To Scotland with Love’.
That’s the book for September. It;s the first book written by Patience Griffin, in the ‘Kilts and Quilts’ series.

Hi Eileen. I saw a post that said it was ‘to Scotland with love’ by patience Griffin. I could be wrong because I can’t find anything on here about it. It’s supposed to be a bit racer in parts so beware!

Thanks Barbara. Just wondering if this group is still active. Doesn’t seem to be anyone else on here

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years, 9 months agoI’m finding this book a little slower than the earlier ones, but it’s getting better.
Try http://www.thequiltingcompany.com
They have an article on ‘the quilts of Alias Grace’ which is interesting. -

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years, 9 months agoJust finished and loved it, yes the ending was predictable but I still enjoyed it. I don’t like ambiguity, I need to know so it was good for me.
Not my usual type of book so thanks for the recommendation x -

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years, 10 months agoI read this a while back and almost gave up as I found it very hard going at first, but I persevered and then enjoyed it. If I recall correctly I wasn’t too happy with the ending but I now can’t remember why.
